Policy Outline

We have created this Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statement to demonstrate our commitment in developing and maintaining a system of safe and respectful working practices.

Our Commitment

Our customers, users, employees and suppliers have an expectation that when using or delivering our services they will remain harm free. Our vision is a harm free environment for all. I, together with the Abletek Staff are committed to meeting our vision and these expectations. We want to ensure that:

• Every installation project we undertake is safe installation project;
• Our employees go home healthy and safe each and every day;
• We maintain our assets and deliver our projects safely;
• We fulfil our commitments to prevent pollution and nuisance; protect biodiversity; improve air quality; and reduce waste and carbon emissions.
• Strive for a ‘completely safe’ working environmnet – performance objectives are continually monitored and reviewed to ensure they are understood, acted upon and met

Policy Application

We have put in place health, safety and environment rules and procedures, including emergency procedures that are regularly updated. We assess risks and introduce HSE measures to ensure risks remain as low as reasonably practicable. We regularly discuss known and potential risks and the measures we have taken to control risks. We regularly review our safety, health and environment statistics to identify trends and root causes, so necessary action can be taken. Each year we develop HSE improvement plans to enhance what we do. We want to build a just culture and employees or their representatives are consulted on health and safety matters as they arise, in a meaningful way through scheduled health and safety meeting or more regularly where needed.

Health & Safety

We provide a safe workplace for all our employees, customers, partners, and the public by integrating safety into our daily business and we encourage everyone to be responsible for both their safety and the safety of others to support an injury-free environment. We promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage employees to proactively manage their personal health.

Environmental Sustainability

We identify principal environmental aspects of our operations, and mitigate impacts using “reduce, reuse, and recycle” principles. We are committed to environmental protection and strive to conserve natural resources through innovative processes and continuous improvement methodologies. We will work to reduce our environmental footprint, and adhere to our environmental policies (climate, water, and energy) and goals.

Responsibilities for ALL

We all need to look out for each other and speak up if anything is unsafe or damaging to our health or the environment. We all have a duty to follow our HSE rules and procedures. Do not take shortcuts. Where necessary rules and procedures can be changed. We can learn from the past, so always report accidents, incidents and near misses. In this way we can work together so that our vision for a safe and healthy environment is achieved.

This policy is communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of Abletek and is freely available to view on company web-site.
This policy will be monitored to ensure that the objectives are achieved. It will be reviewed annually and, if necessary, revised sooner in the light of relevant legislative or organisational changes.
