The Barix Exstreamer M400 product range leverages the success of the widely popular existing Exstreamer product portfolio. With improved design and performance capability the Exstreamer M400 offers enhanced IP audio decoding functionality.
The Exstreamer M400 UK (InformaCast) is one device option within the M400 Exstreamer portfolio. Other versions of the Exstreamer M400 product exist to provide similar licence / function (eg. Syn-Apps Revolution).
Which Exstreamer M400 Version?
Syn-Apps or Informacast versions should be used for operation within these application specific environments. For non-specific, generic operation and use of standard Barix firmware loads, any of the Exstreamer M400 versions can be used.

Where Used?
Use the Barix M400 Exstreamer to decode audio streams from an IP audio source:
- Internet Radio
- IP music source, music streaming service
- IP paging, IP Public Address (pa) / IP Tannoy
- SIP IP telephony
Once decoded, the audio output from the audio source and Exstreamer M400 can be connected and used for playout through traditional low ohms or 100v line commercial audio system equipment (mixers / amplifiers) and speakers.
Abletek Note: We have installed Barix Exstreamer devices within many of our own commercial audio projects. Typically we use these devices in partnership with an IP audio encoder to route and extend 100v line audio within large buildings, between buildings and even between different sites. We also regularly use Barix Exstreamers as an independent audio source connected to traditional audio systems for playout from IP audio sources such as IP microphone, SIP telephony and Internet radio audio streams.
